Chopin and Debussy produced brilliant achievements in piano music. Chopin brought out the remarkable character of the piano, making full use of this instrument. In his music, the piano shows its delicacy and grace, massiveness and magnificent. Debussy further developed the piano's potential. In his music, the piano depicts various colors and scenes like a picture. In Estampes, we can see three richly colored landscapes - of the Far East in Pagodes, Spain in La soire dans Grenade, and the Tuileries Gardens in the heart of Paris in Jardins sous la pluie.
